1) On the MEPA portal, scroll down to the bar showing Advisory Opinion. The portal link is here or at : https://eeaonline.eea.state.ma.us/EEA/MEPA-eMonitor/home.

2) Our project is listed under Advisory Opinion (not new projects), then “Petition for Fail-Safe Review re: Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School”.

3) Under Actions, choose comment. Continue as a guest. Note: If the comment window does not open for you then you will need to turn off  "block pop ups" in your browser.

About the MEPA Fail-safe citizen’s petition:

On January 27, 2023 we submitted a 26-page Fail Safe petition through 301 CMR 11.04 of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) documenting nine areas of environmental damage that would result if the Voke is built on the Hilltop site. The nine areas of damage include:

• Extensive land alteration including deforestation of >2000 trees

• Destructive effects of Construction

• Destruction of Native American Cultural sites

• Pollution

• Destruction of core forest and rare species habitat and native soils

• Impairment of Wetlands and associated Buffer Zones

• Impairment of Water Quality

• Increases in flooding and storm water flows 

• Reduction of groundwater levels

Please submit your comments and urge the MEPA Director to require a full MEPA review including an Environmental Impact Report, which shockingly has never been done.
